There’s a lot of information about coronavirus being thrown around. Some of it’s legitimate, some of it’s bogus. One thing that’s been mentioned as a possible symptom of coronavirus is conjunctivitis (pink eye).
It’s true that pink eye could be one symptom of coronavirus, but only when paired with others. It’s usually not a primary symptom by itself. According to the CDC, these are the main symptoms of coronavirus:
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Muscle pain
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
If you have pink eye but none of these other symptoms, you probably don’t have coronavirus. However, it’s still a good idea to get tested if you have the option. To avoid pink eye and coronavirus, don’t touch your eyes (Or your face in general) and wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds each time. Learn more about avoiding coronavirus here.
